5v5 flag football play
Slant Choice
Your best slot gets a two-way option at five yards while a backside slant keeps the defense honest. Tell your players: 'Choice runner — break away from the body; QB — throw to the space, not the girl.'
How to run it
- 1
WR3 owns the choice: push to five, then break away from the defender's leverage — inside if she plays outside, outside if she plays inside.
- 2
QB and WR3 must see the same defender the same way — rep it until the break is never a surprise.
- 3
WR1: your backside slant is the answer when the defense brackets the choice — stay alive through the whistle.
Who the quarterback reads
- 1. Y
- 2. X
- 3. C
The choice route is first because it can't be covered by one defender playing honest leverage — the receiver simply breaks wherever the defender isn't.
The concepts in this play

- Quick routes breaking inside at a 45° angle. The fastest way to move the ball and the best answer to a hard rush.
Who should run it
Developing. Teams with a season together, or middle-school age. A couple of reps to lock the spacing in.
