5v5 flag football play
Double Slant
Two slants hit the same patch of grass one beat apart, so one defender has to be wrong. Tell your players: 'Three steps, sharp cut, hands up — the ball arrives fast.'
How to run it
- 1
Both slants break on the third step — plant the outside foot and cut at a sharp 45, no rounding.
- 2
WR3 clears the near defender's face first; WR2 slants into the space directly behind her — two lanes, one beat apart.
- 3
QB: throw on rhythm to the first slant that clears her defender's inside shoulder — chest-high and in front.
Who the quarterback reads
- 1. Y
- 2. Z
- 3. C
WR3's inside slant crosses the throwing window first, and how her defender reacts tells the QB instantly whether WR2's slant behind it is open.
