5v5 flag football play
Post Corner
One receiver bends the deep defender toward the middle, then breaks away to the empty corner. Tell your players: 'Two cuts, both violent — the post must look like the real route.'
How to run it
- 1
WR1: sell the post with your eyes and a hard inside plant at eight yards — the corner break only opens if the defender turns her hips to the middle.
- 2
The corner throw goes high and outside toward the front pylon angle, where only WR1 can run under it.
- 3
WR3's seam is a decoy with a job: hold the deep middle defender so she can't drift over the top of the corner.
Who the quarterback reads
- 1. X
- 2. Z
- 3. C
The post-corner is the designed shot and it needs the QB's full timing — eyes go there first so the ball comes out the instant the defender bites on the post.
The concepts in this play
- Double move
- Fake one route and run another — a hitch-and-go, a sluggo. Saved for a defender who's started jumping the first move.
- Downfield
- A vertical route that stretches the defense deep. Even when it isn't the throw, it clears space for everything underneath.
Who should run it
Advanced. Experienced or high-school rosters. Timing-dependent — rep it before you call it on Saturday.
